Verbier - April 2001

 
I had arranged to meet Judy, Rosie and Jamie at Geneva airport at 10.30ish, bloody Charlie having managed to wangle a freebie to a German medical conference or sommat, probably got another free TV thrown in...Vine Street  BUY IT ......so far so good.

Spot Judy first,who then goes to get the family rail ticket...Rosie and Jamie were collecting the luggage and stuff from baggage reclaim........NOT. Half an hour later Judy decides to see what the hold up is. It transpires that BA have managed not to send their luggage at all apart from Jamies bag.  So Jamie and I set off on the train to Lausanne, leaving poor Judy and Rosie to sort it out and hopefully meet up with Colin and Hugo who were arriving later.

The rest of the sorry tale of the first day goes like this...
  • BA looses baggage.....(incidentally the flights had been given free to C&J due to lost luggage on a previous flight!.......Do you think that BA are trying to tell them something?
  • Judy and Rosie sort the lost luggage situation out and in the process hand over the return flight tickets which they did not get back. Luckily this wasn't realised until the end of the holiday as it would have been a constant source of worry.
  • Luggage to be delivered to Verbier in a day or so, oh and here's some complimentary wash bags with extra skids 'n' stuff in.
  • Judy meets up with brother Colin and Colins' lad Hugo.
  • Judy has a glass of beer gets a bit tipsy and leaves her "North Face" jacket on the train. "Oh b****r I think its got my passport in it too...double b****r". Charlie did actually manage to get the jacket back and the passport was in Judys' bag, so it was not all bad news
